A JOURNEY BEGINS

2010

Miki and Jared met in Vancouver, Canada after Miki moved from Japan to learn English. Together, they moved to Japan, spending years living and cooking in different cities across the country.

Yamato School of Ramen

2012

After attending the prestigious Yamato School of Ramen together, Miki and Jared toured Japan in search of the best ramen shops, tasting and learning as much as they could from masters of the craft.

Open Guelph Shop

2017

Miki and Jared return to Canada and opened the first Crafty Ramen shop in Guelph, Ontario, bringing Japanese-inspired ramen techniques to their community.

PANDEMIC HITS

2020

Like many restaurants, we faced unprecedented challenges due to COVID-19. We closed our dining rooms temporarily but never stopped perfecting our craft.

FROZEN RAMEN IS BORN

2021

Our frozen ramen was born from a simple idea: bring the comfort and craft of real ramen into people’s homes, no shortcuts, no compromise.

We built it to deliver that same rich broth, bouncy noodles, and craveable toppings you’d get in-restaurant, straight from the freezer to the bowl. It’s ramen made for busy weeknights, snowy days, and anytime you need a little comfort..

Ramen, ReimaginedTM

TODAY

We've expanded our mission: to become the household name for restaurant-quality ramen across the world with our frozen ramen line, while continuing to serve fresh bowls in our restaurant locations.

The only rules of ramen are to constantly bend the rules.

Japanese Inspired

The two pillars of Japanese ramen are regionality and innovation. We take inspiration from the principles of Japanese ramen and use them to answer the question: what does ramen look like across the world?

We believe the only true rules of ramen are to constantly bend the rules.

Real Ingredients

We pride ourselves on using real, high-quality ingredients in all of our recipes. We carefully select and partner with trusted producers to ensure that every dish is crafted from the freshest meats, vegetables, and wheat. Our noodles are made with the highest quality Canadian wheat. Our dedication to quality means you can taste the difference in every slurp.

We serve a variety of ramen styles and are proud that our restaurant menu contains a high proportion of vegan and vegetarian options.

scratch-made

Wherever possible, we make our menu items from scratch.

We make our noodles daily, and our dedicated Noodle Makers spend each day operating our noodle machines imported directly from Japan. Many of our offerings are based on Miki's family recipes, including our Gyoza, which are folded in our shops every day.
